Congratulations to our 6 All State Orchestra Students who will be travelling to San Antonio next week to participate in the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic and perform their All State Concerts. Good Luck and Safe Travels!!!

Honor Orchestra Results

Congratualations to the MHS Symphony Orchestra for making the finals of the TMEA High School String Honor Orchestra Contest. The Symphony Orchestra placed 4th in the State of Texas!!! CONGRATULATIONS WARRIORS!!!

All Region Results

Congratulations to the 23 members and 2 alternates who made the TMEA Region V Full Orchestra and 21 members and 2 alternates who made the TMEA Region V String Orchestra. MHS had the the most students in the region make the orchestra. WAY TO GO!!

Grammy

The Music Departmnt at MHS has been named the 2009 National GRAMMY Signature School by the GRAMMY Foundation. Congraulations to all MHS Music Students on this TREMENDOUS accomplishment.

About the Martin HS Orchestras

The string instrument program of Martin High School began in 1982 with an initial enrollment of 8 students. Today, Martin HS has over 225 students enrolled in the orchestra program. Students in the MHS orchestra program participate in UIL Region V Solo & Concert Contests and the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Orchestras and Bands.
